Today's phrasal verb is "turn back". We're building our vocabulary, which is the most important thing you can do to become more fluent in English. "Turn back" has a couple of meanings. 1”) Turn back" means to turn around and face the opposite direction. For example: • Before leaving the house, he turned back to wave goodbye. 2”) Turn back" also means to return in the direction you came from or to make someone else do that. For example: • The climbers had to turn back because of bad weather. • The security guard turned back protesters who tried to enter the building. • Refugees who reached the border may be turned back.
